HTC has gone touchscreen-wild with the announcement of yet another touchscreen device to launch. The HTC Touch Viva is a near cookie cutter image of the original touch, with a few improvements and, sadly, a few drawbacks. The Touch Viva will be sporting a TI OMAP 850 processor running at only 201 MHZ. Throw in 128 MB of RAM, 256 MB of ROM, a nearly below standard 2.0MP camera, microSD support, a 2.8 inch touchscreen (only a TFT) at 240×320 pixel resolution. And, of course, your standard Bluetooth 2.0, WiFi in 802.11b/g, and network support limited to quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz frequencies. The Touch Viva’s bumped up to Windows Mobile 6.1 over the original Touch and trumps it’s TouchFLO with its souped up TouchFLO 3D. Look for the Viva to be available as early as next month.
